Sepertinya Samsung Galaxy S III sukses untuk menjadi smartphone terlaris di dunia dan bisa mengalahkan penjualan iPhone 4s. hal ini didasarkan pada laporan perusahaan riset Strategy Analytics tentang penjualan kedua dari perangkat Samsung Galaxy S III.
Dikutip dari PC Advisor, Sabtu 10 November 2012, laporan dari Strategy Analytics menyatakan bahwa Samsung Galaxy S III berhasil menjual 18 juta unit. Sedangkan iPhone 4s hanya berhasil menjual 16,2 juta unit.
Sementara itu, meskipun Samsung Galaxy S III berhasil mengalahkan penjualan iPhone 4s, iPhone 5 telah sukses meraih 6 juta unit dalam kuartal pertama sejak peluncurannya.
Sedangkan dari sisi pangsa pasar, Samsung Galaxy S III meraih 10.7% pangsa pasar smartphone secara global. Gabungan dari iPhone 4s dan iPhone 5 meraih total pangsa pasar 13.3%.
"Bagaimanapun juga, posisi Samsung Galaxy S III sebagai smartphone terlaris di dunia tampaknya tidak akan bertahan lama," kata Exceutive Director Strategy Analytics, Neil Mawston.
"Kami memprediksi bahwa iPhone 5 akan mengalahkan penjualan Samsung Galaxy S III pada kuartal ke-empat tahun 2012 dan Apple akan mengambil alih gelar smartphone terpopuler," tambahnya.
